Hats off pals J.P.Richardson,Valens and Holly. That plane crash to the north of Clear Lake has evolved into a cultural milestone and it can be clearly seen from the epic song "American pie" by Don McLean in 1971, that emerged as a great success.

Thou, The Day the Music Died evokes pain for many involved, but younger generations have increasingly used the Clear Lake anniversary and made the pilgrimage to Iowa as a means to connect with the spirit and sound of 1950s rock rather than as a somber memorial visitation.

I have heard the song by Don McLean 100s of times and many others have covered it. Regarding dead of music, I think it's just one generation of music has died where another is born (and is growing up).

Different parts of the country have different priorities and not everyone believes that it's a "hairy economy"...besides, this will help boost their local economy. So "the need to float a bond issue in a hairy economy" isn't a bad thing if it does in fact create more jobs and I suspect it will, it will also bring more revenue to the school and is a place where people can forget about their own "hairy economies". If the REAL football can do that, I'm all for it!! :)

miracle whip gives a tangy sweetish flavor which i really dont like! I wonder how people do that well there are as many eating habits as there are foods. i would prefer mustard instead of miracle whip if there's no mayo available.

I could blow it off and say it happens because of television, but rugby, soccer and Aussie football are also televised, and the commercials are integrated into the game somehow. (Or they get by with those big placards all around the walls of the pitch.) So I'm afraid you're guess is as good as mine, mate.

As for all the padding, it comes from too many kids getting their necks literally broken while playing. Some, though, maintain that the padding only contributes to injuries by encouraging players to hit harder. It seems that there aren't too many people over here who believe in the famous bumper sticker, "It takes leather balls to play rugby."

I'd say "go Man. U." or "Onward Arsenal" in closing, but I don't know enough about the game myself to root for one team or the other. So I'll just tell you to go have a pint on me at the local, and thanks for commenting!
